Fans of the Air Jordan XVII can rejoice. Jordan Brand has one of those rare moments of lucidity that seems to strike them every few years and actually listened to their consumers and are finally bringing the XVII back.
Although MJ didn’t lace up this colorway, however he did wear the XVII for the bulk of his first season with the Washington Wizards back in 2002.
At this early juncture there are no available images but we should see a piece of footwear that stays true to its jazz-inspired progenitor in that is should sport a white leather upper with its musical note featured lace cover. Perforated leather at the collar and tongue top extends down into the top of the inner with varsity red showing up via the Jumpman at the toe , rear heel. Varsity red should also be present at the front of the toe and the lace openings.
Underneath should reside a TPU encased midsole that houses blow molded Air units a full-length shank plate as well as TPU heel stabilizer.
It is also unclear whether the upcoming version will come housed in the suitcase, as did its forbear. Additionally pricing info is murky , but if the ridiculous reported 300 USD price point of the “Lightning” and “University Blue” holds true, the retail price will likely fall in the 325-350 USD range.
